Serving Others is Serving the Savior

July seems to have escaped me and I realize I haven't posted as much in the blog as I would have liked to. Luckily there are still a couple hours left in the month so I have time to squeeze in one last entry before midnight strikes.

Today while Elder Scott and I writing back and forth during his 60 minutes of internet time, I asked him if there was anything specific he had been thinking about or pondering this week. He immediately wrote back that he had been thinking about the importance of serving others and followed it up with this,"I love to serve others. Personally it just makes me happy to do, and I know that it is what Heavenly Father wants us to do. I love the scripture found in Matthew 25:40, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Every time we serve someone, we are serving the Lord. There is no importance in who that person may be or what circumstance they are in because all of us are children of our Heavenly Father, and He loves each and every one of us equally. That is why it is important to always have a smile on your face, service on your mind, and love in your heart. Because every act of service we do is like doing service for our Savior."

Truly, this has always been one of the gifts and talents Elder Scott's has been blessed with. He loves serving others, and will be the first person to volunteer if he hears there is a need. It certainly was true during his high school years, and that desire has continued to grow and flourish during his time in Trujillo. A mission is most definitely all about service, so the 2 years he spends in Perú will continue to change him in all the best sort of ways.

For anyone keeping count, this is 3 of 3 places Elder Scott has lived where he had to find a new apartment. The one they found this time looks pretty sweet.

A balcony AND a ping-pong table. Life is pretty good.
Beautiful views from their balcony.
