There were so many great things he shared with me this week, but some of the highlights of life in the CCM the past 7 days include being called, along with his companion Elder Weller, to be new Zone Leaders over one group of Avanzados and 2 groups of Principiantes. Elder Scott is in his element when he is called into a leadership role, but knows how to balance really well in non-leadership roles as well.
Let's see, other than that he was finally able to watch the movie Meet the Mormons and loved it, especially the story about the Berlin Candy Bomber. If you haven't seen it check it out. I believe you can stream it right through Netflix! He also started a "reading club" with his dad and the first book they'll be reading together is Jesus the Christ. It's an outstanding book!! Elder Scott officially became a seamstress this week when he made the unfortunate discovery of a rather large hole in his pajama bottoms. At first he stuffed them back into a drawer hoping they would magically repair themselves, but later that night he found the hole still prominently showing and came to the conclusion he'd have to pull out a needle and thread for the first time ever. He sewed away and said it looks a little rough, but there's no more unwelcome breezes so he's feeling pretty proud of himself.
A bunch of new missionaries came into the CCM this past Tuesday, which means Elder Scott is now in the "old" group which they call Avenzados since he's officially hit the halfway mark of his CCM experience. The new group is the largest they've had and he said they are all amazing so far.
Most importantly Elder Scott had a wonderful conference weekend where he was able to hear the words of our prophet and apostles on earth today. He was so excited for this session that Elder Weller and he decided to go to bed early the night before so they could be up to find a prime seats in the chapel early the next morning. They scored second row right in the middle (The first row was reserved for the hermanas) so their plan worked! He loved all the talks, but especially thought Elder Uchtdorf's talk from the Priesthood session spoke to him and is now challenging us all to find our own Amulek

He also highly suggests you watch Elder Uchtdorf's talk from the General Woman's session, and pay attention to the story of the 4th floor, last door.

It's amazing to see how much he's grown. I continue to be in awe of all our missionaries serving with such love and commitment.
In his journal this week Elder Scott wrote, "Be thankful when the alarm goes off you have another day to do His work and build His church" Isn't that the truth? It's important to recognize our blessings and give all our thanks to Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. The greatest thanks we can give is emulating them and proclaiming their gospel to all.
Thanks again to all who continue to keep him in your prayers in your thoughts. He LOVES hearing from people, so if you get a chance drop him a quick e-mail at:

Hello Everyone,
This weeks recap will have to be fairly short unfortunately. I'm basically out of time today. I want to start out with how amazing General Conference was though! I hope you were able to have your preguntas y dudas (questions and doubts) answered. I know I for sure did. We were able to see all the sessions live. There were so many amazing talks. I loved it. My favorite was from Elder Uchtdorf's talk. I believe it was in the priesthood session. If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest that you watch it. I challenge all of you to find your Amulek.
Elder Weller and myself were extended the call to serve as Zone Leaders for the remaining time we have in the CCM. We accepted the call and are now over one group of Avancados (the Elders y Hermanas that have already been here 3 weeks) and two groups of Principiantes (the new missionaries that flew in last night, they finally got here at 4 am. crazy right?!) Elder Wilson is now the new district leader of our Eter District. I know that he is going to do an amazing job. He is such a kind person and great missionary.
With the new missionaries being here we are officially halfway through our stay at the CCM. That's such a crazy thought! I'm glad that we might have some food besides chicken and rice in our future again though, haha. We go out to proselyte this Saturday with missionaries from Lima East so we are all trying to prepare as much as we can for that. It truly will be a real experience. I'm also excited because some of the old group of Avancados were able to buy Papa John's last time they were out, lol. We did convince our Maestra (teacher) to bring in Papa Johns possibly for us all next week if all goes well. I'm really hopeful. Supposedly it tastes basically the same, lol.
I've been told to get more pictures with other missionaries for the Facebook page because I've been told I need to, haha. Life is going good though. Our CCM president and his wife are soooooo knowledgeable in the gospel. Their classes have been amazing! I have learned so much about the gospel in the past few weeks. My book suggestion for this week is Adjusting to Missionary Life. It is made for full-time missionaries but its soooo applicable to life as well anytime we go through changes or stress. It's a really great book! If you can find a copy I suggest getting it. I won't get mine until I get out to the field but I was able to look through one the other day. It's so great. Otherwise not much has really been going on that I can think of.
Like I said, General Conference was amazing. I've been rereading my journal entries about it and finding things that I love that I don't even remember writing down. I highly suggest you read through your notes and rewatch talks because I know that I have at least been getting something new every time. It's such a blessing. One of my favorite activities down here has been to read through hymns and sing them with other people. I never realized just how many different messages are available to us in the words we sing in hymns.
The countdown to the field is officially on, I can't believe that I've already been in Peru for 3 weeks. Time really has started to fly by. It seems like forever ago that I was boarding the flight down here. I have to wrap it up, but I want you all to know that you are in my hearts and prayers. I love each and every one of you. I hope you are blessed with the spirit and with safety. Remember that as you go through stressful events, that it is only temporary. This storm shall to pass. I love you. I pray that you will act diligently and with love. Remember the solution to any problem that you might face is just more love. Even when it may be hard or it may not seem like it would work, the solution is always more love.
God be with you till we meet again.
-Elder Scott
