¡El bautismo de Wander!

Elder Moran performed the sacred ordinance for Hermano Wander

"Hermano Wander is getting baptized!!! He passed his interview tonight and his parents gave the okay. So it’s official, this Saturday he’s getting baptized!! We’re so excited for him as he enters the water of baptism. " A little over a week ago, these were the words Elder Scott recorded in his personal  journal, and when we had the opportunity  to read his words and see the first pictures coming through our P-day email about that special day, I shrieked with joy. Our family has been praying for Wander and for his parents the past couple of months because we knew how much Wander wanted this sacred ordinance to take place. I am so grateful my son had a hand in teaching him about the gospel of Jesus Christ and about our Heavenly Father's great Plan of Happiness. I'm thankful his parents saw the positive changes he has taken to make his life better and support his decision to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What a treasure Wander is. Elder Scott and all of us will always hold a very special place in our hearts for this outstanding young man who I am confident will continue to do great things with his life.

Here's even more temple photos that came through this week.

And a couple photos from Easter

Elder Scott tells us Easter is a very special holiday in Perú and the true spirit
and reason for this special week if honored here. There's no Easter bunnies, baskets filled with candies or egg hunts to occupy their time. Instead, the day is spent thinking of our Savior and the miracle of His resurrection. It made the day that much more special.

We sent these small Easter
baskets to the Elder's.
Having a bite or two of chocolate
was still a welcome treat.
